English bird artist Roland Green was born in 1896 in Rainham, Kent. He was educated in Rochester and the Regent Street Polytechnic, and then specialized in bird and mammal painting, with annual one-man shows of paintings and separately published etchings at Ackermann Galleries.

He lectured on bird watching and how to draw birds, with a particular interest in birds in flight.
